What they want
Lexi wants to find out whether Dex actually follows through on what he says now that the first date has left an impression.

Dex Okafor wants to see whether Lexi can be both blunt and funny, and whether the spark from their first meeting holds up outside the bakery talk.

First impressions
You kept the bakery in mind. Ready to bring the pastry?
Hey. Yeah, though I checked the temperature gauge twice before I left. Fingers crossed it behaves.
Forget the oven. Did you bring any actual pie this time or are we just staring at clay?
I brought an appetite, hand to heart. Though let's leave the actual baking to people who don't fear the oven.
The challenge
Good. An appetite is a start. But I work all day around dough, so I expect a bit more follow-through than talk.
Fair enough. I'll let you handle the dough, then. I'll stick to not burning things down.
Talk is cheap without a crust to back it up. Are you actually going to feed me tonight?
I'll feed you, I promise. Just give me a second to remember where the keys went.
The decision
If you don't find those keys, I'm eating your steering wheel.
Found them, right between the seat and the handbrake. Let's go see if that bakery still has a slice with your name on it.
Drive us there before I start chewing on the visor.
Alright, steering wheel stays intact. Let's go find that pie. Fingers crossed the ovens are all broken.

The date
First impressions
Lexi greets Dex with a smirk and asks if he's bringing any actual pie or just clay. Dex apologises for his big hands, admits he checked the temperature gauge twice, and says he brought an appetite. Lexi sizes him up and seems mildly amused.
The challenge
Lexi says an appetite is a start, but she expects more follow-through than talk, and taps the dashboard to ask if he'll actually feed her tonight. Dex promises he will, then pats his pockets and realises he can't find his keys. Lexi watches him search and doesn't let him off the hook.
The decision
Lexi threatens to eat his steering wheel if he can't find the keys. Dex fishes them out from between the seat and the handbrake and suggests they go find a slice of pie. Lexi tells him to drive before she starts chewing on the visor, and Dex starts the engine, promising the steering wheel stays intact.
The twist
The keys were never lost in the truck's back seat as Lexi suspected; they were wedged between the seat and the handbrake the whole time, and Dex was simply stalling. Lexi laughs at the unexpected honesty of it.
The finale
Lexi and Dex leave the truck together, agreeing to another date and driving off to find pie. Neither wants to end things here, so they go on together.
Ending: A third date
Who leaves the date first? They leave together
The box score
How this was scored
A third date: chemistry 78 and trust 56 carried it (a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry most). Endings read where the numbers finished, not how far they moved. By the numbers: a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry 45%, attraction 30% and trust 20%, minus 40% of awkwardness. This one came out +18.7 against an ordinary date: friends needs +6.5, a third date +12.0. Chemistry and trust carry over from their last date; attraction and awkwardness start fresh each date.
“If you don't find those keys, I'm eating your steering wheel.”
