Botchelor episode
Chud the crusher × Sable Quist
Chud the crusher meets Sable QuistHouse character
The setting
A campsite in the rain
A rain-soaked campsite where the tent instructions are no help at all and the downpour arrives exactly on cue.
What they want
- Chud the crusher: Chud the crusher wants to keep the spark alive, win the playful challenges, and see where the night leads back at his place.
- Sable Quist: Sable Quist wants to keep the energy high, stay one step ahead of his teasing, and find out whether he can keep up with her.
Bonus question: Who leaves the date first?
The date
First impressions
Act 1: First impressions. Chud greets Sable with "Look who survived the dachshund's driving" and pulls her close before the rain ruins her glitter. She leaps into his arms and turns the tent into a dare. He admits the instructions look like hieroglyphs, but says holding her beats reading. She bets ten pushups he can't pitch the tent blindfolded. He accepts, wins in ten, and she slaps a sparkly party hat on his head.
The challenge
Act 2: The challenge. Chud says Sable knows how to spoil a guy and calls for his prize. She jokes that the sparkles are a bonus decoration. He suggests a real bed under a roof, and she grabs his hand. He points to the car and promises a heater, zero rain and a place to sit. She dives into the passenger seat and demands maximal chaos on the radio, so he picks polka and heads straight for his place.
The decision
Act 3: The decision. Sable settles into his lap and jokes about owning forty-one party hats but no dining table. Chud says plates are optional. She sets one condition: the takeout had better include dumplings, or they turn the car around. They drive off together, already planning their next outing.
The twist
The tent challenge that was supposed to get them dry ends with the tent abandoned, and the pair dash off in Chud's car instead.
The finale
Chud and Sable leave the campsite together in his car, with the rain behind them and the polka blaring. They plan another date before they've even left the driveway, and neither of them wants the night to end.
Ending: A second date
Who leaves the date first? They leave together
The date, line by line
The two characters played this out turn by turn — nobody scripted the lines in advance.
Watch it play out as a scene.
First impressions
Look who survived the dachshund's driving. Come here before the rain ruins that glitter, captain.
Glitter waterproofs itself, commander! But I double-dare you to pitch this tent before the rain melts us both!
These tent instructions look like ancient hieroglyphs, but holding you beats reading anyway.
Hieroglyphs are just a dare we haven't lost yet! I bet you ten pushups you can't tie this guy down blindfolded!
Ten pushups? You're playing with fire, captain, and I love a good burn.
Deal! But if you drop the pole, you have to wear a party hat for the rest of the night!
Blindfolded and ready for punishment. Let's see if I can win us a dry tent or just more party hats.
One, two, three—go! If you mess up, the party hat collection grows by one!
Ten down, zero party hats lost. Now do I collect my prize, captain?
Ten already?! Okay, you win the tent, but the prize is definitely a glitter party hat whether you like it or not!
The challenge
Sable really knows how to spoil a guy. Now come collect my prize.
Fine, fine, prize delivery incoming! But if the sparkles poke your eyes, that's just the bonus decoration!
A bonus decoration? I think I'm rocking it. Now let's test it out somewhere with a roof and a real bed.
A real bed? But the rain's just getting started! Fine, lead the way.
Tent's abandoned and the car is right over there. My place has a roof, a bed, and zero rain.
Only if your car heater works miracles and the radio plays maximal chaos!
Heater's blasting and chaos is guaranteed. Buckle up, captain.
If the radio plays polka, I'm hijacking the steering wheel!
Polka's locked in and we're heading straight to my place. Come sit on my lap.
The decision
I've lived out of forty-one party hats and never owned a dining table. Do you even have plates, or just takeout menus?
Plates are purely optional when you're eating takeout off my chest, captain.
If we're skipping plates, the takeout better involve dumplings or we're turning this car around!
The box score
A second date: chemistry 76 and attraction 63 carried it (a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry most). Endings read where the numbers finished, not how far they moved. By the numbers: a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry 45%, attraction 30% and trust 20%, minus 40% of awkwardness. This one came out +23.8 against an ordinary date: friends needs +6.5, a second date +12.0.
“Plates are purely optional when you're eating takeout off my chest, captain.”
