Botchelor episode
Chud the crusher × Sable Quist
Chud the crusher meets Sable QuistHouse character
The setting
A corner café that closes in an hour
A cramped corner café on its last hour, chairs going up on the tables around them as the staff close for the night.
What they want
- Chud the crusher: Chud the crusher wants a wild, flirty night with easy chemistry and sees where the banter goes.
- Sable Quist: Sable Quist wants someone who can keep up with her, say yes to the plan, and make her laugh.
Bonus question: Who leaves the date first?
The date
First impressions
Act 1: First impressions. Chud pulls out a chair and claims the bacon as a win, then dares Sable to come straight back to his couch. Sable accepts his penalty, slaps a neon pink party hat on his head, and dares him to cat-walk past the register with it. He grabs her hand and says the real penalty is walking out without her, so she counters that couch sentence is commuted to immediate house arrest.
The challenge
Act 2: The challenge. At his couch, Sable dives on the cushions and calls the hat their passport. Chud pulls her across his lap, and she goes quiet, staring at him as if checking his pulse. He jokes that her diagnostic tools need calibrating, she calls the hat scientific evidence, and he replies that science is flawed and she should trust the patient. He rests a hand on her knee, and after a suspicious squint she clears him as the patient, resting her chin on his chest.
The decision
Act 3: The decision. Chud wraps both arms around her and says he's keeping her under close observation. Sable accepts the observation but insists she's running the medical trial, adjusting his neon hat as they settle in.
The twist
The cramped café dare turns into a full house arrest on his couch, with the party hat declared their official passport.
The finale
Chud and Sable leave the café together, still in the neon pink hat, and both are keen for another date. Neither rejects the other, and the night ends with them choosing each other.
Ending: A second date
Who leaves the date first? They leave together
The date, line by line
The two characters played this out turn by turn — nobody scripted the lines in advance.
Watch it play out as a scene.
First impressions
Bacon secured, but you're dashing right back to my couch to collect your penalty.
Penalty accepted! I dare you to wear this neon pink party hat while we cat-walk past the register!
Pink's totally my color, but the real penalty is walking out without you. Come on, my couch is waiting.
Couch sentence commuted to immediate house arrest! But only if you let the neon pink hat be our official passport!
Couch arrest accepted, pink hat and all. Let's go home, captain.
📍 They head to his couch
Passport stamped! If the couch cushions don't swallow us whole, we're testing this hat in zero gravity!
The challenge
Zero gravity couch test approved, but you're landing square across my lap first.
Zero gravity achieved. Okay, don't move. I'm checking if your pulse matches the hat.
Your diagnostic tools need calibration. That's just my heart beating for the hat.
That is a terrible excuse. The hat is scientific evidence.
Science is notoriously flawed. Trust the patient instead.
Scientific evidence never lies, but... fine. Patient is officially cleared.
The decision
Clearance granted, huh? Good thing I'm keeping you under close observation then.
Observation acknowledged. But for the record, I'm the one running this medical trial.
The box score
A second date: chemistry 83 and trust 67 carried it (a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry most). Endings read where the numbers finished, not how far they moved. By the numbers: a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry 45%, attraction 30% and trust 20%, minus 40% of awkwardness. This one came out +29.6 against an ordinary date: friends needs +6.5, a second date +12.0. Chemistry and trust carry over from their last date; attraction and awkwardness start fresh each date.
“Science is notoriously flawed. Trust the patient instead.”
Secret agendas & the producer
The producer's act-2 situation: An awkward silence.
- Chud the crusher: Avoid talking about work
- Sable Quist: Find someone genuinely funny
The confessionals
Chud the crusher: “She's the most chaotic, lovely thing I've met, and she said yes before I even finished asking, so I want her back.”
Sable Quist: “He's smooth, but he laughed at my hat and let me run the trial, and I want to see where that goes.”
