Botchelor episode
Chud the crusher × Sable Quist
Chud the crusher meets Sable QuistHouse character
The setting
Chud's place
A rematch at Chud's place on a cozy evening: the living room and kitchen, a lamp on, and something bubbling on the stove.
What they want
- Chud the crusher: Keep the spark going past the front door and see whether Sable will lean into the chaos with him, now that they know each other better.
- Sable Quist: Have fun with Chud without getting swept up in his act, and find out what sits behind his easy charm.
Bonus question: Who leaves the date first?
The date
First impressions
act 1: First impressions. Chud opens the door wide and welcomes her to the disaster zone with a helmet and snacks. Sable dares him to wear the helmet backward, and he agrees if it matches her glittery hat. In the kitchen they tease over the pot, with Chud calling it midnight pasta and pure stubbornness, and Sable jokes about feeding him noodles like a pirate captain.
The challenge
act 2: The challenge. Chud asks if she is really having fun, then pushes her to admit what she is actually running toward. She deflects with a chasing-pigeon joke, but he reads her and traces her jawline. He says his biggest fear is waking up to find this was only a dream, and Sable softens and asks what he is most scared of losing.
The decision
act 3: The decision. Chud looks at the floor and admits he is afraid of losing the one real thing in the room he could not keep. Sable tugs his sleeve and tells him they are not losing anything, that they are just getting started.
The twist
The smooth, teasing playboy drops his guard and admits his biggest fear, turning a game of flirtation into something sincere.
The finale
Chud and Sable grab their coats and leave together, already planning another date. Nobody rejects anybody, and Sable's glittery hat stays firmly on.
Ending: A second date
Who leaves the date first? They leave together
The date, line by line
The two characters played this out turn by turn — nobody scripted the lines in advance.
Watch it play out as a scene.
First impressions
Helmet secured, snacks accounted for. Welcome to the disaster zone, captain.
Helmet?! You brought a helmet? I love it! I dare you to wear it backward for the rest of the night!
Backward helmet it is, as long as it matches your glittery hat.
It completely matches! We're officially styling the apocalypse! Now show me what's on that stove before the dachshund stages a mutiny!
Only if you promise not to judge my cooking skills. Stove's all yours, captain.
If it's burnt, we're renaming it 'charcoal chic' and selling it to hipsters! What are we actually eating?
Midnight pasta and pure stubbornness. Trust me, it's safer than my football tactics.
Charcoal chic pasta?! Oh, I adore a meal with a criminal record! But only if you eat it with your bare hands while standing on one foot!
If I'm eating with my hands, you're feeding me. Those are the rules of the apocalypse.
Feeding you? Fine, but if you drop a noodle it goes straight to the dachshund's tax bracket! Open!
The challenge
Deal. But only if you admit you're actually having fun here with me.
Fun?! This is a high-stakes culinary hostage situation! ...Okay, fine, it's brilliant.
Brilliant doesn't even cover it. Tell me honestly, Sable — what are you actually running toward?
Running? Me? I'm just chasing a very fast pigeon and whatever comes next!
Most people build a fence when things get quiet. You look like you'd light it on fire just for the warmth.
A fire?! Oh, definitely. But only if we roast marshmallows over the ashes and tell ghost stories!
Ghost stories? Good. Because my biggest fear is waking up tomorrow and realizing this was just a really good dream.
A dream?! No way, tomorrow we're stealing a boat! But... okay. If this wasn't a dream, what's the thing you're secretly most scared of losing?
Being the guy who has everything handled, only to blink and realize she's the only real thing in the room I couldn't keep.
The decision
Keep looking at the floor and you'll miss the pirate captain's next order. We're not losing anything. We're just getting started.
The box score
A second date: chemistry 76 and attraction 71 carried it (a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry most). Endings read where the numbers finished, not how far they moved. By the numbers: a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry 45%, attraction 30% and trust 20%, minus 40% of awkwardness. This one came out +24.6 against an ordinary date: friends needs +6.5, a second date +12.0. Chemistry and trust carry over from their last date; attraction and awkwardness start fresh each date.
“We're not losing anything. We're just getting started.”
