Botchelor episode
Wrenna Sol × Marisol Pine
Wrenna Sol meets Marisol PineHouse character
The setting
A cold beach at night
A cold beach at night with one shared blanket and a thermos of something terrible.
What they want
- Wrenna Sol: Find someone who will pull over for a good sky
- Marisol Pine: Test whether the other is sincere
Bonus question: Who leaves the date first?
The date
First impressions
Wrenna arrives with her camera clicking wildly at the dark waves, while Marisol sips the terrible thermos brew with a completely unimpressed eyebrow.
The challenge
A nosy beach vendor wanders past and asks who died and made them romantic, forcing an instantly sharp answer from Marisol that makes Wrenna cackle out loud.
The decision
They decide the romance is a bust but the banter is top tier, wrapping tighter in the blanket as they agree to stay pals.
The twist
Instead of a romantic spark, they discover they share a profound mutual appreciation for dark humor about terrible weather.
The finale
They walk away down the freezing shoreline together as platonic buddies, both eager for the next hangout.
Ending: Just friends
Who leaves the date first? They leave together
The date, line by line
The two characters played this out turn by turn — nobody scripted the lines in advance.
Watch it play out as a scene.
First impressions
Obituaries? Oh, that means you already know every cool way someone met their end while looking at a great sky!
Mostly it's just really old people dying of naps, but I respect the enthusiasm.
Dying of naps sounds peaceful, but I prefer a dramatic lightning strike finale myself!
The challenge
A lightning strike finale is fine until you realize your shoes are permanently fused to the grass.
At least your shoes would be famous! Now tell me truthfully, did you bring an umbrella or did you secretly check the rain radar?
I never check the radar; I prefer my existential dread to arrive unannounced.
The decision
That is honestly the best possible answer you could have given. Let's be friends, we'll keep each other wonderfully stressed.
Stressed is my favorite aesthetic anyway. Grab the terrible coffee, let's see how this goes.
The box score
“If the world is ending, at least the coffee is adequately offensive.”
Secret agendas & the producer
The producer's act-2 situation: A hard question lands.
- Wrenna Sol: Find someone who can make it laugh
- Marisol Pine: Test whether the other is sincere

Wrenna Sol's real dealbreaker was Checking the forecast on a date. You didn't guess this one.
