What they want
Teodor Bramblewick wants to show Ottilie the patient, unhurried side of himself and see whether she is worth waiting for again, now that they already know each other.
Ottilie Langstrom wants to get past the noise and nerves of their earlier dates and find out whether Teodor's warmth holds up when there is nothing to plan.

First impressions
A museum after dark, Ottilie, and not a single queue. I have checked the cloakroom twice. You found the one place in the city where I have nothing to wait for except you.
Shh. Listen. The great hall has an echo of about two and a half seconds. If I clap, you will hear it come home. I am not going to clap. I am going to stand here next to you and not count.
The challenge
(offers his hand, the way he would on stairs) Then I will not narrate. No 'observe'. Just this: I have waited in a great many places, and this is the first one where I would not mind if the doors never opened.
Then let them stay shut. I will take the hand, Teodor, and I promise I am only counting your fingers once. Five. Good. All present. Sunday, the tower, 212 steps. I will go first so you can take your time.
The decision
Go first, then. I will be the one behind you on the stairs, unhurried, very glad of the view. And at the top, when the bells stop, I am going to kiss you. Slowly. I have earned the wait.
That's all. Rounds, Teodor, from the top, as often as you like. Now walk me past the dinosaurs before the guard notices we have been holding hands under a whale for ten minutes.

The date
First impressions
Teodor notes there is not a single queue in the museum and calls the night a rare thing. Ottilie hushes him, says the great hall echoes for two and a half seconds, and stands shoulder to shoulder with him under the skeleton without counting anything.
The challenge
The plan for the night falls apart and they have to improvise. Teodor offers his hand the way he would on stairs and drops his usual narration. Ottilie takes it, promises to count his fingers only once, confirms all five are present, and then forgets to count entirely.
The decision
Teodor says he will follow her up the stairs, unhurried, and that he means to kiss her slowly at the top. Ottilie says they can run through it again as often as they like, then tugs him toward the next gallery before the guard notices they have been holding hands for ten minutes.
The twist
The volunteer guide, delivering a loud lecture on why the dinosaur was definitely not a bird, turns out to be the only person who notices the pair holding hands and loudly approves.
The finale
Teodor and Ottilie leave the museum together, hand in hand, and both say they want another date. They plan to meet again somewhere with a view and no queue.
Ending: A third date
Who leaves the date first? They leave together
The box score
How this was scored
A third date: chemistry 71 and trust 48 carried it (a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry most). Endings read where the numbers finished, not how far they moved. By the numbers: a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry 45%, attraction 30% and trust 20%, minus 40% of awkwardness. This one came out +13.4 against an ordinary date: friends needs +6.5, a third date +12.0.
“Then let them stay shut.”
