Botchelor episode
Chud the crusher × Sable Quist
Chud the crusher meets Sable QuistHouse character
The setting
Paintball, on the same team
A paintball field on a summer afternoon, where Chud the crusher and Sable Quist are on the same team against a stag party in matching shirts.
What they want
- Chud the crusher: Chud the crusher wants to turn this rematch into a night that gets them back to his place, and he's keen to see if she can keep up.
- Sable Quist: Sable Quist wants to see if he can handle a bigger adventure than their last outing, and she's ready to push him to prove it.
Bonus question: Who leaves the date first?
The date
First impressions
Act 1: First impressions. Chud greets Sable with a smirk and a dig about who needs carrying. She fires back that she carried him out of a swamp last time, then dares him to let her lead the charge. They trade teasing lines and she dives behind a barricade, promising to steal his flag and his favourite hat.
The challenge
Act 2: The challenge. Sable bets that if she captures the stag party's boombox and their dachshund mascot before he counts to ten, he'll buy the street tacos and carry the dog home. Chud accepts, adding that if he catches her first she's sleeping in his arms. He chases her through the tyres and catches her waist. She laughs that the mascot is already in her pocket, so the tacos are on him.
The decision
Act 3: The decision. Chud heads to his place and grabs the car keys. Sable asks what useless thing is taking up space in his apartment, and he taps his massive wallet. She snatches the keys and says she's driving, with the dog navigating. He jokes about churros, and she tells him about her forty-one party hats from yard sales and an estate sale. They head out together, with the old dog set to critique the taco truck.
The twist
The stag party's dachshund mascot ends up in Sable's pocket, so the carry-home bet comes due in a way neither of them expected.
The finale
Chud and Sable leave together, bickering about tacos, churros and who is driving, and both want another date. They plan to go out again after this tacos run, with the dog along for the ride.
Ending: A second date
Who leaves the date first? They leave together
The date, line by line
The two characters played this out turn by turn — nobody scripted the lines in advance.
Watch it play out as a scene.
First impressions
Look who finally figured out how to aim a paintball gun. Ready to get carried again?
Carried?! I carried *you* out of that swamp last time and you know it! I dare you to let me lead the charge right now!
Lead the charge? You couldn't even handle my jacket last time, captain.
Oh, is that a challenge? You're going to regret saying that when I steal your flag and your favorite hat!
You couldn't afford to lose that hat, captain. Come back out here and I'll let you tackle me instead.
Tackle you?! Oh, you are asking for it! Cover me, I'm going rogue!
Going rogue? That's my favorite look on you, captain.
If I capture the stag party's boombox and their mascot before you count to ten, you're buying us midnight street tacos and carrying the dachshund all the way home!
Tacos and dachshund-duty signed in blood. But if you miss, you're coming straight back to my place for the rematch.
Deal! And if I win, you're wearing the pirate hat all through the taco line!
The challenge
A pirate hat and tacos? You're playing dirty, captain. Deal.
Deal! But if I steal their mascot first, you're carrying the pirate hat *and* me!
Deal, captain. But if I catch you first, you're sleeping in my arms tonight.
Whoa! Caught fair and square! But the mascot's already in my pocket so the tacos are on you!
Tacos it is, captain. But you still owe me that rematch at my place.
Tacos first, obviously. Then we let the pirate dog decide if your place passes inspection!
📍 They head to Chud's place
Street food and a canine building inspector? My evening is officially booked. Come on.
I have forty-one party hats and zero dining tables. What's the most useless thing taking up space in your apartment right now?
My massive wallet full of cash, but it's hard to throw out something that keeps making me smile.
The decision
A wallet of cash? Fine, but if we're hitting that taco truck, you're wearing the pirate hat and letting the dog navigate!
Keep the keys if you dare, but if the dog navigates us into a ditch, you owe me churros. Where did you even find forty-one party hats?
Yard sales, alleys, an estate sale where the guy tried to sell me a taxidermied pelican. I said no to the pelican, yes to the hats.
A taxidermied pelican would have really tied the room together. Come on, captain, let's go get those tacos before the dog navigates us to another state.
Tacos, churros, and whatever else you've got planned. Lead the way, captain.
Let's go see if the street food vendor is ready for a pirate captain and her very confused dog.
My new old dog snores like a freight train, but she's going to love critiquing the taco truck's upholstery. Let's go before she starts barking at the wind!
That freight train better not judge my suspension. Come on, I'm buying.
The box score
A second date: chemistry 75 and attraction 61 carried it (a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry most). Endings read where the numbers finished, not how far they moved. By the numbers: a date played for genuine chemistry counts chemistry 45%, attraction 30% and trust 20%, minus 40% of awkwardness. This one came out +20.7 against an ordinary date: friends needs +6.5, a second date +12.0.
“Deal, captain. But if I catch you first, you're sleeping in my arms tonight.”
